It's The Most Wonderful Time

Things have been pretty busy in the Mecham household, hence the lack of blogging for the past 4 months. School has pretty much taken over my entire life, but I only have one semester left (so don't plan on me blogging for another long while).
As you can imagine, a lot has happened during the past couple of months, but I failed to take a lot of pictures so here are a few pictures to let you know what we have been up to lately.

1. We had a great Christmas
It was so fun to spend the day with family and celebrate the birth of our savior. Case and I woke up at about 9:00 a.m. and gave our presents to each other. Case gave me a new iron and ironing board, some perfume, and a net book. I gave case some new shoes, clothes, and a BBQ. Later Christmas night we spent time with Casey's family and my family. Casey's mom and dad gave us a beautiful Christis that sits in our family room. Sibling gifts were exchanged and Caitlin (Casey's sister) gave me a shower kit, full of body wash. My mom and dad did a major fake out and gave the kids a Wii. After the Wii was opened and set up, a big box was given to each child. Inside the box was a Emergency Essentials envelope. Thinking we were all getting a gift card to buy food storage, we were very surprised to find a note telling us we are going to Disneyland in May, we can't wait we are so excited. Sibling gifts were exchanged and Ryan and Meg gave me some lip smackers chap stick, a necklace, and a watch chain. They gave Casey a gun strap for his 17HMR.
**Thank you everyone for a great Christmas!!

2. We set up our Christmas tree about a week before Thanksgiving.

3. We tried making a gingerbread house, but we failed miserably. We ended up making this beautiful Oreo Christmas tree.

4. Case dressed up for Halloween. Mr. Mecham=M&M (the kids loved his costume)
5. Mom and dad went to Yellowstone and brought the boys back this great shirt.

6. We celebrated Lydia's 2nd birthday

What great times to end a great year!! We look forward to the new year, 2010 will be full of excitement.

Nebo Loop

Yesterday Case and I, along with my family, drove the Nebo Loop. The crispness in the air, the red, yellow and orange leaves on the trees, and sweater weather, must mean fall is here.
Lin, mom, dad, Amy, and Mer holding Landon
Case and Lydia, Lydia loved throwing rocks in the water
Even Landon had fun...I think, he pretty much slept the whole time.
Look how pretty the trees are in the background

The further we drove, the prettier it got. We even found this little lake which we skipped rocks in.

Mom drove some of us in the van, while others rode on the motorcycles

A Birthday Month

Dear Case,
I hope you had a wonderful birthday, and that you liked your present (I'm sure you did because you have not turned it off since I gave it to you). I had fun spending the day with you and going out to dinner to Tucanos. Thanks for all you do for me and for being the best husband in the whole world. Happy Birthday!!

Dear Meg,
I hope you had a great birthday (September 2, 2009)
Dear Mom and Lin,
Mom-- I'm glad we were able to celebrate your birthday with you today (September 6, 2009). It was fun spending time with the whole family.
Lin-- We hope you are having fun in Oregon, but we missed not spending the day with you and celebrating your birthday. We look forward to celebrating next week.
Me and Lin about 5 years ago in Disneyland.
Dear Jared
I know your birthday is not for a couple more weeks (September 27, 2009), but your birthday is in September, a very popular month for birthday's I guess.
**What a busy month for our family.

Why?

Why no more summer vacations?
Why no more snow cones?
Why am I staying up till 11:30 or midnight?
Why do I not get to see Case everyday until 9:00 at night?
Why am I having cereal or something made in the crock pot every night for dinner?
Why am I feeling stressed and overwhelmed?
Why is all the money we have saved gone?
Why? Why? Why?

Because summer is over and were back in school.

We Love Elder C

Today my cousin Scotty is leaving on his Mission to the Philippines. The time Scotty would leave on his mission I thought would never come and now that it is finally here, it has struck each and everyone of us pretty hard. For the next 2 years we will not see Scotty running through the field, we will not see him riding the lawn mower to mow the field, and we will not get annoyed by him when he just walks into the house without a knock. Although the next 2 years will be hard without Scotty, we all know that he is going to be in the right place at the right time. We all know Scotty is doing the right thing. For the next 2 years Elder C (Elder Crandall) will be having the time of his life.

24th of July

Every 24th of July we gather with family to celebrate. This 24th of July we carried on the tradition. We started by going over to Casey's mom and dad's for some delicious pizza ( I forgot my camera so unfortunately no pictures). It was fun eating pizza and talking to Case's family. A couple of hours later we went to my mom and dad's for a BBQ. I must warn you, we had so much fun so there is a PICTURE OVERLOAD!

I think Lydia had a little too much fun. She found a bucket of water with some toys in it and it kept her entertained the whole night.

We went to find some fireworks but by the time we got there, they were over. So everyone came back and we did Sparklers. Between all of us we ended up doing about 900. We sure do love Sparklers!
